I have a new kit for you! It is a set of printable goodies for Halloween parties!!!

Easy How To Instructions::

1. You print the files on matte or gloss photo paper or cardstock on your own printer or send them off to a printer (Costco, Walgreen’s, Shutterfly, etc.)

2. Cut or punch out the pieces. Banners will need to be connected either to each other or to a ribbon for hanging. A 2″ circle punch can punch the small labels. Glue the food labels you want to use to a tent card. That’s it! Easy-peasy!

Files are jpg, png, psd, pdf (pdf’s are ready to print from home and you can edit text on the invitation)

Two challenges and a new release!

Oh my goodness. Time is flying by and I feel like I am in a time warp or something. I thought when the kiddos went back to school my life would be calm and peaceful… hahaha I was so wrong.

So, anyway- I have some new things to announce!

First, I have two challenges for you!

Challenge #1

My Photo Challenge is up at PlainDigital Wrapper. Everyone who participates gets a gift certificate to my store! This month is super easy (because I totally am a week late in posting). So if you want an easy guaranteed gift certificate head over there to PDW and post a layout in my challenge this month!

Theme: Family
Your photo has to show family. Whatever your family consists of (kids, parents, siblings, extended, pets, whatever YOUR family is).

Before you begin here are a few simple guidelines that must be met:
1) Use at least one item (any item is fine) from a Plain Digital Wrapper designer
2) Must be a new layout created for this challenge
3) Can only be entered in one challenge category
4) Post your layout in the correct challenge gallery

Everyone who completes the challenge will get a gift certificate to my store at the end of the month!
This challenge will run from October 1-31st
If you have ANY questions, please feel free to ask me!

I have had a blog/Facebook Freebie up and wanted to challenge you to use it and SHOW me what you made with it! I will select one random participant to win a $10 gift certificate at the end of the month!

So, how’s it going?!?!

Oh my goodness. So summer needs a total do-over. I cannot believe how bizarre it was around here. Teaching art threw it off a bit, but that car accident of my Mom’s really changed the rest of summer. We did spend a whole lot more time hanging out at Grandma and Grandpa’s house, which was probably fun for the kids. And we were able to help at their house with the garden, flower beds, bringing in some meals, things like that. Even though we only made it on one camping trip, I think the kids enjoyed the time over at the grandparents’ home enough that summer wasn’t totally weird for them.

I didn’t get a lot of designing done, as you can tell. And the blog didn’t get updated like I had planned. So I am sorry for that. I am trying to get some new routines in now that my kids are all back in school. It *crossing my fingers* will be nice to have a “normal” school year. After going back to college full time and then needing to home school my son, then adding my youngest daughter to home schooling last year, I am ready for “normal”!

So, that brings me to updating the blog. I will be back in a little bit to show you my latest. I have new templates, a challenge in the PDW forums (you can win a gift certificate just by participating-woot!), and a blog freebie! So stay tuned!

I have noticed, and been disappointed in the trend of much smaller kits since my return to designing. I don’t feel like following the trend. *wink* So, I just kept adding what I felt like I wanted in a kit for my own pictures, and it just became GINORMOUS!

And then, I felt like I needed more boyish feeling elements so I added more, and then I decided to just make some clusters!

You will love how it can work for both boys or girls, and you can showcase your photos from any age group! It is versatile, fresh and lots of fun! I designed it as I was snapping pictures of our summer activities. So there are a lot of summer related elements that work for beach, amusement park, water park, playground and other activities!
These are the elements in the kit. Not all are pictured, but most. I had so much fun creating these! I tried really hard to make sure there were boy and girls options (I have an almost teen boy, so I know how hard it is to find elements for them!)

There are 18 papers in this kit! You can purchase them in the kit or separately.

These are extras I made as I was scrapping and wishing for just this “one” other element. This is a separate add-on pack you can grab.

This cluster pack is a separate add-on. I was having a lot of fun making clusters for my layouts, and figured I may as well make a little pack of them!

Last time I mentioned that I will be starting some challenges on my blog and there will be free products for those who participate! So watch for that to start soon! Subscribing to my blog will be the best way to stay up to the minute on that. I have had to start later than I planned due to my mom’s car accident. All of my “free” (as in I do not HAVE to be somewhere else) time has been spent over at her house taking care of her and her yard and gardens. But, I think that situation is getting under control with the family all taking shifts. So I am hoping to make some templates in the next week or so and get the party started!

I hope your week is SUPER FUN, full of family and friends and lots of memories shared or created!

My new release will be next week

My mom was in a bad accident Wednesday, There is a neck plate injury, I think it is a broken(?) c2 vertebrae, which is above 4 other vertebrae that were fused a couple of years ago from another accident, her right hand had a compound fracture and they did surgery last night on that to put metal “bridges” in (that I don’t think were necessary, but they won’t actually talk to her before they do anything, they are just milking this for everything they can), and an ankle fracture that also had surgery to install some fabulous hardware. We still haven’t heard from the spinal guy three days later. I am getting so mad at this hospital. I swear, they are understaffed and have no manners. Patients aren’t people they are bank accounts.

It is truly a miracle she is even alive. The guy that caused the accident took off and they never found him. Her car was plowed off the road and she hit a ramp sort of retaining wall that rocketed her car into the air, and it landed front end first, about 30 feet away, then that launched her another 20 feet or so where she landed on the back end of the car, and then it rolled/slid another 30 feet or so up an embankment. I can not believe she isn’t more damaged. And after the car stopped she smelled gas, panicked and climbed out of the car to get away. She is one wild woman. We still aren’t sure where she was in the car when it stopped. She thought the dashboard was in front of her, but my brother had the number of the first guy on the scene to help and he said when he got to the car she was climbing out a back window.

I would be really grateful for the prayers in her behalf, I know they are heard. She is in so much pain, they are saying three months flat on her back is what she is headed for at home (which may kill her faster than any other injury could). We don’t know when they will release her, they can’t cast her ankle or hand due to swelling. But she is going to go so crazy laying flat, please pray she heals faster!

And with that, I will be MIA for a little while so we can make sure she isn’t alone at the hospital and then I don’t know what we’ll do when she is at home. I kinda feel like a crazy lady. I have a kit that is almost ready to be released, I was just finishing up a fun add-on pack for it when this happened. I wish I could take this computer to the hospital and work on it while I sit there. So, hopefully I can release it next week. But I will give you a peek at it and some pics of what is left of my mom’s car.

I am back in design mode! It feels like I’ve been gone for ages. I am happy to say I got straight A’s this semester, and that made me so happy! School is hard as an adult in adding to the busy days with kids, but on the other hand, grades seem to be easier. That must come with maturing a bit?!

Oh my gosh! I am so excited to finally say the store is back open! I didn’t quite finish everything, but it was close. And honestly my tuition payment is coming up and I can’t afford to stay closed. Substitute teaching is not paying the bills!

So, here are the details:

*I may not have gotten your account in yet. I still have about 127 people left to enter. So if you have trouble logging in it may be that you were one of the last few I have. Feel free to just register again. I can’t promise when I will get it all finished.

*Because I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart I have two specials going on.

It’s back!!! Happy Day!

Oh my goodness! This has been the LONGEST month ever. But I can finally say that the store is back up and running!

I will tell you that I lost the last 4 months’ of databases. So I am going to be plugging away at getting it back in there. That means you may not be registered in the store if you had registered in the last 4 months. It also means that any orders you placed in the last 4 months will not be in there. And that is not the best news, I know.

So, I wanted to let you know a few things:

First, I am going to go through the receipts one at a time and get the orders back in. This is obviously going to take a while. But I want to make sure you have access to your downloads. And your store bonus points. So, please be patient with me! I will be putting them in the order the came through. So, please also be forewarned that you may receive e-mails that you placed an order- these will not be charged again to your paypal accounts or whatever you used to pay. It will just mean that I got the order re-keyed!

Second, because you may need to re-register, I am going to place 50 store bonus points in every account that registers before I get it done manually. So if you get yourself re-registered before I do then you get 5 points as my way of saying thanks for saving me the time!

And finally, but the best part- I have knocked all digital products down to $1! I will keep them this price at least this week, maybe longer. Kind of depends on how long it takes me to get through the receipts and plug it all back in. And all of the physical products are on sale at barely more than my cost. I would love to just move them out! So if you wanted any of the products now will be the absolute best pricing you will get!

Wow, I completely missed last week. LOL! I was sick, then I was substitute teaching, then I got sick again. I felt like last week should just have been put on hold.

It was nice to have my husband taking care of me, helping around the house and cooking dinners. But I have such a hard time just laying in bed, or even sitting still, for that matter. I am so glad to be back to normal!

And to celebrate I finished up a new kit! I am not a big fan of winter, and I actually struggled with this one after getting it started. But then I started reminiscing about the fun I have watching my kids out in the snow. They are oblivious to the weather. And they have fun outside no matter how cold or wet it is.

This isn’t about skill, it is more about theme. Of course you want your photo to look good, but I am not going to be judging quality here.

Challenge Details:

Deadline: Your layout/project must be loaded to the photo challenge gallery before midnight MST on Nov. 15th ! (here is a time converter to help you!)

Prize : One participant will win a $5 gift certificate to my store! (randomly selected, no judging involved) Plus: Each participant will receive 25 store bonus points !

Products : You can use any products you like, but you must use at least one product that is in the DAD store to qualify for the prize!

Photo Theme Details: Your photo must be taken between Oct. 12-Nov 15th. It needs to show the season (for me it would be Fall/Autumn). So you may need to go outside, or maybe you have decorations in your home that show the season. I need to be able to tell from just the photo what season you are in right now!

1. Create a page, card or hybrid project that incorporates the Photo Theme.

2. Upload your page to the Photo Challenge Gallery before the deadline! (Place the photo in your member gallery, and then you can also place it into any kit galleries you used.)

3. The prize will be awarded to someone who has posted in this gallery! If you don’t post you won’t qualify for the prize.

4. I will have select one random participant on Nov. 16th as the winner of a $5 gift certificate to my store! And every participant will receive 25 points in their store account!

You can use any products you like, but you must use at least one product that is in the DAD store to qualify for the prize!

1. Create a page, card or hybrid project that incorporates at least 3 of the colors form the swatch. I am fine with it being a shade or two off, but it needs to be fairly close, so I don’t have to actually think about it. hee hee

2. Upload your page to the color challenge gallery before the deadline! (Place the photo in your member gallery, and then you can also place it into any kit galleries you used.)

3. The prize will be awarded to someone who has posted in this gallery! If you don’t post you won’t qualify for the prize .

4. I will select one random participant on Nov. 1st as the winner of a $5 gift certificate to my store! And every participant will receive 25 points in their store account!

The October swatch is from my Farmer’s Market kit. I loved playing with these colors. They are great for the end of summer, fall or even Halloween. Maybe you’ll think of more themes, I am sort of in the fall mode at the moment.

This isn’t about skill, it is more about theme. Of course you want your photo to look good, but I am not going to be judging quality here.

Love a challenge with specifics? I do, sometimes I need to be forced outside of my momentary thought process. It usually helps jump start more creativity and just gives me a boost! So I am going to have a photo challenge each month!

Photo Theme Details:

Your photo must be taken between Oct. 12-Nov 15th. It needs to show the season (for me it would be Fall/Autumn). So you may need to go outside, or maybe you have decorations in your home that show the season. I need to be able to tell from just the photo what season you are in right now!
