I will try to get more going next week on the blog. I had a very eventful week with my kids and didn’t have much time at home. My two oldest had camps, the oldest was at Heber Valley Girl’s Camp, and for the first time in 5 years I wasn’t involved. It was so weird to be in the position of not knowing what was going on. But she went, had an awesome time, and is now safely home!
My son had karate camp. He spent 7 hours a day all week learning and practicing karate. He almost got his orange belt, but got nervous in the very last part of the testing. So he is all striped to test, and Hanshi says he will retest him when he is ready. BUT, he did win first in board breaking (and that was against ranks of white through red belt!). His team also came in first in the team competitions! So he really did awesome!!!
And my youngest and I spent the week hanging out together. I really don’t think she and I have had one on one time like that in her entire life. It was so much fun! We went to lunch, visited the zoo (she is an animal whisperer, so we had to go), visited the petting zoo, saw a couple of movies, and played in the pool. And then last night while I was out with a friend she took our Saint Bernard (Bear @ 140ish pounds, dd @59 pounds) for a walk while her sister (the babysitter) was in the shower. DD is almost 10, and she and her friend decided to just take Bear out, no big deal. But, when they got a few houses away there was a cat out… What I have been told is that Bear started chasing the cat, dd held on trying to stop him (with her mighty 59 pounds), and he went around the corner of a house and the house stopped dd. She was slammed into the house and knocked out. Her friend got help fro the neighbor, and they treated her cuts and scrapes and checked her eyes for a concussion (he is in the medical field, thankfully). And I came home to a purple faced, bleeding girl. It was so sad.
She can’t remember what happened. And her biggest concern is having to go out in public. (Naturally, she is my child) I am going to have to see if we need stitches in her knee, and have them double check her head this morning. What a night!
And today is my 17th anniversary to my hubby! So, I guess what I am saying is sorry for the lapse in posts on the blog. I’ve been busy and it isn’t over yet! But I am finishing up a new kit, inspired by the fun with my kids so far this summer! And I will have new releases at PDW next week!
Go enjoy your family!!!
*heart* April
I just wanted to say thank you to all the men who choose to make being a dad a priority! I am so grateful for the dad I had growing up. He taught me so many things. I learned that it was good to know how to change oil in my car or how to change a tire. But, better than that, I learned I could probably do it in a dress if need be and still feel like a girl. I learned to balance out how to do hard things with still being a princess. And I am really grateful for that. And now, he continues leaving this example for my children, and I hope they want to be like him when they are grown.
Here’s to my Dad!!!
And now I have a another man in my life… my hubby! Where would I be without him? It’s really hard to say, I don’t know at which point I would give up and throw in the towel.
So here is a thank you to him for all the work he does, whether I acknowledge it out loud or not, it is known and appreciated. Thank you for all the leaky toilets silenced, the lawn that you can mow five times faster than I can, the string trimming I am too short to do properly, the oil changes I know how to do but don’t have to, the tires that have never been so bald I’ve ever had to use my tire changing skills, for all of the ‘weird’ noises I hear in the car engine that you inspect, for ignoring me when I get really involved in a project and want to finish it, and for all the millions of other things I am not thinking of. Thank you! But most of all, thank you for being a good dad and a great example to our kids. They love and respect you and that only happens by their choice, which says a lot about you.
I love you, Joe!

Oh my goodness. I am hoping I survive summer. My kids have been one week and they are already (well, just the older two) at each other’s throat constantly. They’ve always rubbed each other the wrong way, but holy cow! I have been trying to think of what to do, and it is hard because if I am busy (teaching art lessons) I can’t stand around referring or even following through on discipline. Anyone had a similar situation? Message me or comment and give me ideas! I am talking about a 15 year old and an 11 year old. Maybe I should just dunk them in the really cold pool? bwahahaha
Hi, I am so excited to announce that I am out actually really back to designing!I spent the past few months home schooling my two youngest, and teaching art lessons. With the home schooling done, and lessons under control I have been able to breathe!
